Sotheby’s Diamonds
“Sotheby’s Diamonds” partners with stellar jewellery designers like Nicholas Lieou and Lily Gabriella to create modern masterpieces from the finest diamonds. It draws on the unrivalled knowledge of Sotheby’s jewellery experts to create unique modern collections and bespoke pieces. Diacore, world-leaders in sourcing, cutting and polishing provide the exceptional diamonds. The business is a perfect synergy of the finest natural materials, design and craftsmanship.
How to do justice to such beauty, brilliance and artistry? That was our design challenge. We adapted the classic Sothebys corporate identity to reflect the contemporary nature of the jewellery. We also wanted to create contemporary imagery informed by Sotheby’s considerable history as a luxury fine art brand. To accomplish this, we commissioned acclaimed photographer Erik Madigan Heck. He created beautiful painterly tableaux inspired by the art of the Impressionists which featured prominently, and consistently, across a multi-channel campaign.
