Dreweatts 1759 - Hollycombe House

Hollycombe House was the home of the late Tim Hoare and his wife Virginia. The interiors cleverly combined the magic of a Scottish baronial shooting lodge with a Gentleman’s London Club. The collection offered a unique twist on the Country House style. Curated by the illustrious interior designer Robert Kime, at the heart of Hollycombe were the art and furniture collections. Both spanned the centuries.

The magnificent art collection featured works by Thomas Gainsborough, Stanley Spencer, Mark Chagall, Salvador Dali, Maurice de Vlaminck and Augustus John. Highlights of the furniture collection included a pair of large Arita Imari vases and an Aubusson verdure tapestry. The print and online catalogue I designed contained the 430 lots from the 2 Day auction, along with introductions and beautiful interior shots from the house.
